Working with minimal supervision, the Scientist partners with Marketing, CCID, Supply Chain, Quality, Packaging, Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Process R&D, Commercialization Planning, co-manufacturers, and Pepperidge Farm teams. The role reports to the Senior Manager R&D, Frozen. The position leads cross-functional product development projects from concept through commercialization, incorporates consumer testing into prototype formulation, and develops products to meet business, cost, and nutritional objectives. It also involves manufacturing and pilot plant trials, product and process experimentation, risk identification and resolution, shelf-life studies, competitive benchmarking, and identifying new ingredients, technologies, and cost-saving opportunities. The Scientist manages multiple priorities, adapts to changing directions and ambiguity, and communicates critical paths, risks, and solutions to business teams and management.
