Scientist I - 6 Month Temporary Position

About The Position

Cellanome is adding a Scientist 1 to the team for a 6-month temporary role. Reporting into the Director of Cell and Gene Therapy Product Development, the position is pivotal in assuring the successful execution of our experimental plans, carrying projects from initial concept through lab work, and final analysis of results. The primary focus of this temporary role will be to drive development of cutting-edge gene and cell therapy genomics applications on automated platforms. Balancing wet lab work and results interpretation, your efforts will drive a seamless scientific process.

Requirements

  • Typically requires PhD in a relevant area of cell biology plus 0-2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree with 3-4+ years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience using liquid handlers to execute Next-Gen Sequencing (NGS) workflows.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting wet lab work and troubleshooting experiments as well as communicating scientific findings.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, high-growth environment with a can-do attitude and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience in performing bulk and single cell RNA-seq workflows.
  • Deep familiarity with cell work (e.g., stem cells, cell lines, primary cells, cell differentiation).
  • Experience in genetic engineering of human cells for cell and gene therapy (CGT) applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive scientific collaborations and partnerships within academia and industry that culminated in achievement of high impact results.
  • Experience as an end-user of instrumentation for genomics and related analytical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for delivering against experimental plans, from ideation and experimental scoping, through lab work and troubleshooting, to final analysis and interpretation of results, in close coordination with colleagues in RTD, Comp Bio and beyond.
  • Monitor project progress, anticipate and mitigate potential challenges and propose solutions to ensure timely completion of objectives.
  • Partner with internal computational biology team and external partners to analyze and interpret experimental data, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and high-impact publications to effectively communicate project outcomes and findings.
  • Contribute to intellectual property (IP) strategies by identifying and documenting novel discoveries.
