About The Position

Cayman Chemical Company, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, provides scientists globally with resources to advance human and animal health through a growing product catalog and service programs. Their mission is to enable research by employing experts who develop tools for research scientists. Currently, they are seeking a Scientist I to assist in providing LC-MS-based analytical services for lipids and other small molecules.

Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in chemistry or a related field.
8 years of experience (with Bachelor’s), 5 years (with Master’s), or 0 years (with PhD).
Extensive hands-on experience running HPLC and mass spectrometry equipment, developing HPLC methods, and interpreting LC-MS/MS data.
Solid knowledge of organic and analytical chemistry.
Proficiency in general lab calculations and common lab software.
Ability to work normal business hours on-site in Ann Arbor, MI.

Nice To Haves

Specific experience in drug pharmacokinetic analysis or lipid analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain HPLC-MS/MS instrumentation.
Perform quantitative HPLC and HPLC-MS analysis of target analytes in a variety of matrices.
Prepare solvents, mobile phases, and analytical samples of diverse origins.
Interpret analytical data – suggest and assist in developing new analytical methods.
Keep complete and accurate record of all observations, measurements, techniques, procedures, and conclusions in a laboratory notebook.
Search, interpret, and utilize scientific literature.
Help prepare scientific papers and technical reports for publication and/or presentation.
Offer technical support to teammates, other staff, and customers as needed.
