About The Position

Entegris is currently seeking a Scientist I, Analytics & Metrology to join our QA Labs Department. This position will be based in our San Luis Obispo, CA facility. In this role, you will work to ensure that the lab runs efficiently and safely while contributing to long term lab goals through experimentation and the use of lab instrumentation to improve lab procedures. This position will work with QA Labs to support sample/data collection, analysis and process improvements and Analytical Services to support data collection and analysis. The role is a weekend shift support role and candidates must be available to work Wednesday through Sunday, 7am-3:30pm.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Lab experience using gas-phase analytical equipment w/equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using MS Excel is required.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information and ideas to internal and external audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong personnel team building skills.
• Well organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and climb ladders during test set-up.

Nice To Haves

• MathCAD experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing based on established methods.
• Calibrate and maintain scientific instrumentation (APIMS, CRDS, TDGCMS, IC, etc.) and laboratory equipment.
• Lead Long-Term Stability monitoring and Gage R&R studies in Quality Assurance Labs.
• Lead testing and documentation of incoming media testing laboratory.
• Communicate results through written reports and oral presentations.
• Successfully apply scientific principles, theories and concepts to specific job assignments/projects.
• Work with QA Labs team moving sampling lines at various heights to different locations throughout the building for internal product testing, requiring the use of a ladder.
• Participate in site continuous improvement activities across safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Work with R&D team to document and evaluate the effectiveness of process parameters for media testing.
• Maintain a safe laboratory environment through compliance with Entegris policies.
• Participate in Safety Teams as required, perform 6S lab audits.
• Author and/or review test reports, work instructions, and other technical documents.
