About The Position

The Scientist I conducts laboratory work to ensure products are tested according to operating procedures and that work is performed efficiently and safely. The role provides routine analyses in an analytical chemistry laboratory, using standard practices, and performs assigned analytical methods on raw materials, samples, stability samples, production intermediates, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). It also supports method development and qualification, internal development, and manufacturing operations. The Scientist makes detailed observations, reviews and documents testing, and communicates results. The role is based in Florence, South Carolina, on a standard Monday–Friday schedule, with stated hours of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and a need for flexibility. Work takes place in a laboratory and cleanroom environment and involves adherence to GMP and safety standards, PPE, strong odors, and hazardous or toxic materials. The position requires lifting and other physical activity as described in the posting. The Scientist maintains housekeeping and a clean, safe work area; follows cGMP, OSHA, safety regulations, SOPs, and laboratory procedures; performs instrument calibrations and verifications; inspects safety equipment; and conducts routine chemical testing and method development or qualification. Testing may use HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, GC/MS, LC/MS, and traditional wet chemistry. The role identifies and reports unexpected or out-of-specification results, documents and reports analyses, contributes to regulatory documents and communications, and may assist with analytical methods, validation protocols and reports, and SOPs. A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field is required, and new graduates are considered. Laboratory and analytical-instrument experience are preferred. Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening. The posting offers competitive wages and an excellent benefits package.
