About The Position

The Scientist, Bioconjugation designs, synthesizes, purifies, characterizes, and optimizes novel bioconjugates that support Dyne’s therapeutic pipeline. This role applies expertise in bioconjugation chemistry, protein purification, oligonucleotide conjugation, and analytical characterization to solve scientific and technical challenges. Prior experience in design, synthesis, purification, and/or characterization of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and/or antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates (AOCs) is a plus. The Scientist collaborates closely with colleagues across chemistry, protein engineering, analytical sciences, process development, biology, and other functions to advance therapeutic programs from discovery through development.

Requirements

  • PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related scientific discipline with 0–3 years of industry experience; or a master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience in bioconjugation chemistry and protein purification.
  • Experience with the conjugation of proteins, peptides, antibodies, or oligonucleotides.
  • Strong understanding of linker chemistry, conjugation mechanisms, and site-specific modification strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with purification techniques, including HPLC, FPLC, size-exclusion chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography, and affinity chromatography.
  • Experience with analytical characterization methods such as LC-MS, UPLC, capillary electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and dynamic light scattering.
  • Knowledge of protein chemistry, oligonucleotide therapeutics, or antibody-based therapeutics.
  • Ability to independently design and execute experimental work within defined research projects, applying sound scientific methodology to address increasingly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate experimental data to support program advancement and scientific decision-making.
  • Strong scientific curiosity and an innovative, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent experimental planning, execution, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with internal partners toward shared scientific objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet timelines, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative biotechnology environment.
