About The Position

The Scientist 1, Microbiology Development performs routine laboratory maintenance and supports laboratory operations by propagating bacterial cultures, preparing media and reagents, labeling plates and tubes, and restocking supplies. The role follows established SOPs and scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. It maintains inventory of media and reagents, assists with qualification and validation of equipment and laboratory instruments, including calibration, and maintains laboratory notebooks and documentation in accordance with GDP guidelines. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• BS degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or Chemistry.
• Related science experience.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory maintenance.
• Propagate bacterial cultures.
• Prepare media and reagents and perform related general laboratory duties.
• Label plates and tubes and restock supplies.
• Work within established SOPs and/or scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines.
• Maintain adequate inventory of media and reagents for laboratory operations.
• Assist with qualification and validation of equipment and laboratory instruments, including calibration.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and ensure documentation follows GDP guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
