About The Position

The Microbiology Laboratory Scientist performs routine laboratory maintenance, propagates bacterial cultures, prepares media and reagents, and supports equipment validation. The role follows established standard operating procedures and scientific methods while adhering to quality standards. It also includes inventory control, calibration support, and maintaining laboratory documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices. Other related duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related scientific field, with relevant experience.
• 1 to 2 years of professional laboratory experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique and general laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory maintenance and general laboratory duties.
• Propagate bacterial cultures.
• Prepare media and reagents; label plates and tubes; and restock supplies.
• Follow established SOPs and scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines.
• Maintain adequate inventory of media and reagents for laboratory operations.
• Assist with qualification and validation of laboratory equipment and instruments, including calibration.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and document work in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
