About The Position

This position of Technician II is part of the Standard Desalt Value Stream. The role involves synthesizing oligos on various synthesizer platforms, cleaving and deprotecting them, and quantifying them for quality control. The technician will also attach modifications, adhere to safety regulations and SOPs, and use lab equipment with limited maintenance and troubleshooting. Custom software packages will be used to complete tasks and create final products. The technician will assess QC data, make pass/fail decisions for oligos, handle expensive materials, and keep thorough records. Following documented custom instructions and demonstrating behavior consistent with IDT's Core Values are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, the role includes preparing oligos for final shipment or further processing, and using aids and SOPs to make production path decisions. Additional essential functions may differ by department/group.

Requirements

US High School diploma or GED
Proficiency with computer skills with the ability to accurately use SOPs and work instructions
Ability to prioritize and organize workload to efficiently accomplish departmental goals
Ability to manage time and works independently
Ability to communicate with peers and all levels of management
Uses aids and SOPs to make decisions about the proper production path per product
Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

Synthesizes oligos on various synthesizer platforms
Cleaves and deprotects oligos utilizing appropriate methods
Quantifies and samples oligos for quality control tests
Attaches modifications utilizing various techniques
Adheres to safety regulations, lab SOPs, and contamination controls
Uses lab equipment including limited maintenance and troubleshooting activities
Uses custom software packages to complete tasks and create final product
Assesses QC data accurately and makes pass/fail decisions for oligos
Handles expensive oligos and reagents
Keeps thorough records of specialized processes in the oligo process history
Follows documented custom instructions, when applicable
Demonstrates behavior consistent with the IDT's Core Values
Performs other duties as assigned
Prepares oligos for final shipment to customer or for further processing in other departments
