About The Position

The Scientific Equipment Technician / Warehouse & Inventory Specialist performs hands-on inspection, maintenance, calibration, and handling of scientific and technical equipment, including air, water, and radiation monitoring systems. This position also supports day-to-day warehouse operations, asset accountability, and inventory control to ensure equipment readiness, compliance, and accurate property tracking. This is a non-supervisory, execution-focused role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or technical background preferred)
  • Experience working with scientific, environmental, or radiological monitoring equipment
  • Experience supporting air, water, or radiation monitoring systems in field or operational settings
  • Experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, and asset accountability
  • Familiarity with calibration and preventive maintenance practices
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or property management systems
  • Ability to lift and move equipment/materials in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Organization and time management
  • Ability to follow instructions and work within a team
  • Clear written and verbal communication

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
  • Experience supporting government, military, or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of property accountability, audit readiness, and/or hazardous material handling procedures

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on scientific and technical equipment, including air, water, and radiation monitoring systems
  • Calibrate instruments in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable standards
  • Operate and support environmental monitoring equipment used for air quality, water sampling, and radiological detection in field environments
  • Identify equipment issues and perform basic repairs or coordinate repair actions as directed
  • Maintain service records, calibration logs, and equipment documentation
  • Prepare, configure, and stage equipment for operational use, storage, or transport
  • Receive, inspect, store, issue, and track equipment, parts, and materials
  • Maintain accurate inventory and property records in designated systems
  • Ensure asset accountability of all assigned equipment, including serialized and sensitive items
  • Assist with and support inventory audits, inspections, and property accountability reviews
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; identify, document, and report discrepancies
  • Package and prepare equipment for shipment in accordance with handling, labeling, and documentation requirements
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and secure warehouse environment
  • Follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate records, documentation, and traceability of assets
  • Coordinate with team members to support equipment movement and operational requirements
  • Identify issues or inefficiencies and report through appropriate channels
