About The Position

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital and a leading research centre. Requirements

  • Expertise in medical radiation physics.
  • Expertise in image analysis.
  • Expertise in instrumentation pertaining to PET.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration and quality maintenance of clinical PET scanners (HRRT and GE Discovery MI PET/CT) and preclinical PET scanners (Mediso PET/MR and PET/CT), as well as associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Assisting with the support of computer and network infrastructure for secure management, processing, transfer, and storage of PET and MRI data.
  • Developing and implementing PET methodology for preclinical and clinical PET tomographs, and creating solutions for challenges with newer PET tomographs.
  • Acquiring data and performing image processing for physical characterization tests of PET systems (NEMA), quality control, calibration, and harmonization between scanners.
  • Performing analysis of human PET and MRI image data.
  • Helping to develop image analysis and dosimetry pipelines.
  • Providing basic training to establish methodology for new PET tracers among CAMH researchers and trainees.
  • Assisting with the preparation of data for publication.
  • Implementing methods to ensure data compliance with conversion methods to standard data structures (e.g., BIDS).
  • Setting up and maintaining shared computing and software resources for authorized users within BHIC.
  • Data management responsibilities including data backup and oversight of data storage.
  • Interacting and liaising with CAMH Research IT and Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics teams.
  • Collaborating with the Methodology Team to maintain integrity of PET and associated data and integrate PET data into subsequent analysis.
  • Helping to develop and enable data quality control pipelines to satisfy regulatory requirements for clinical studies.
  • Performing investigations to validate new knowledge, imaging, analysis, and methods in imaging sciences.
  • Providing training to CAMH staff and trainees.
  • Involvement in preparing standard operating procedures and related documentation.
  • Performing other research-related administrative duties.
