About The Position

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital and a leading research centre. CAMH's Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute (CFMHRI) focuses on improving the understanding of the brain, causes and biomarkers of mental illness, and advancing prevention and treatment. The Brain Health Imaging Centre (BHIC) at CAMH is a global leader in clinical brain imaging, including PET, MRI, preclinical imaging, digital autoradiography, and radiochemistry production. The BHIC's mission is to advance brain health and mental well-being through innovative imaging technologies, research, patient care, and collaboration. The BHIC is seeking a full-time permanent Scientific Associate with expertise in quantitative (PET) neuroimaging studies. This role will serve as a liaison between PET staff and CAMH researchers, facilitating the development and standardization of PET image processing and interpretation methods. The Scientific Associate will address challenges in the discovery and translation of novel radiotracers and collaborate with the Methodology group to ensure data precision. The position also involves supporting external grant applications and publications by working with CAMH Principal Investigators.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between core PET staff and CAMH researchers of diverse academic backgrounds who process, evaluate, and interpret PET images.
  • Develop and share methods developed by the methodology group.
  • Facilitate a standardized approach to PET image processing and interpretation.
  • Develop appropriate solutions to overcome challenges encountered during the discovery and human translation of novel radiotracers.
  • Work in close collaboration with the core Methodology group to maintain data precision at all stages from acquisition to analysis.
  • Work with CAMH Principal Investigators to support external grant applications and publications.
