About The Position

The Science Teacher is responsible for instructing science students and maintaining a positive classroom environment, particularly during laboratory activities. The teacher will work with chemicals and hands-on materials included in the Purdue Science Kits and collaborate with Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies teachers. The role includes teaching Physics and Integrated Chemistry/Physics according to Indiana Department of Education Science Standards, as well as AP Statistics, Algebra-Based Physics, and Research courses.

Requirements

• Science License or Science Endorsement for grades 5–12.
• Applicants must not have been evaluated as ineffective or recommended for probation assistance on their most recent evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Instruct science students.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment during labs through strong classroom management.
• Teach Physics and Integrated Chemistry/Physics according to Indiana Department of Education Science Standards.
• Teach AP Statistics, Algebra-Based Physics, and Research courses.
• Work collaboratively with Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies teachers.
• Work with chemicals and hands-on materials included in the Purdue Science Kits.
