The Science Teacher (6-9) is responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills contributing to their cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development in the 21st century. This role requires the individual to hold a current North Carolina Professional Educators license for their area of assignment and must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional Educators license in Middle Grades Science (6-9). The position involves differentiating instruction, coordinating and improving instruction, analyzing situations, making data-based decisions, utilizing technology, managing instructional time and student behavior, motivating students, consulting with stakeholders, monitoring student performance, and interacting within the educational environment. Additional duties may include coordinating and directing the activities of a Teacher Assistant.
