This role is for a Science Teacher for grades 9-12. The teacher will be responsible for developing lesson plans that align with state learning and common core standards, utilizing technology to assist students, and adapting the curriculum to engage students imaginatively. The position emphasizes information, media, and technology literacy, encouraging the use of emerging tools and web technologies to meet student needs. The teacher will create classroom experiences that focus on applying knowledge to solve real-world problems and guide students in developing 21st-century skills through various activities, both inside and outside the classroom. The role also involves leveraging learning data and tools to create, manage, and assess engaging learning experiences. General responsibilities include adhering to the Academy's philosophy and mission, adopting a student-centric and holistic approach to teaching, modeling positive behaviors, preparing instructional lesson plans, administering standardized tests, maintaining accurate student records (grade books, report cards, attendance, behavior/discipline), and ensuring confidentiality. The teacher will collaborate with staff to improve student learning, employ sound classroom management techniques, and foster positive working relationships with students, parents, school personnel, and the public. Participation in school activities such as staff meetings, open houses, chaperoning, providing guidance, faculty committees, and problem-solving is expected. Adherence to corporate and Academy policies, participation in professional development, maintaining Highly Qualified Teacher status, and performing other duties as assigned by the Principal and Management Company are also required.
