About The Position

The School Social Worker works to enhance students’ educational progress and help them benefit from their educational program. Services include counseling, instruction, consultation, collaboration, assessments, and monitoring for LIU and/or district-designated students, their families, and supporting staff. The School Social Worker delivers services as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work.
• Valid Pennsylvania School Social Worker Educational Specialist Certificate, or work under an emergency permit and be willing to enroll in a Pennsylvania Department of Education-approved School Social Worker preparation program.
• Current Pennsylvania Department of State-issued license as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Nice To Haves

• Three years’ experience in social work or a related field is preferred.
