About The Position
Charm City Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join its team in Frederick, Maryland. The role provides mental health and social-emotional support to students in a school setting, helping address their social, emotional, and behavioral needs and supporting student well-being and success. The position involves counseling, assessment and intervention planning, collaboration with school staff and families, participation in special education processes, and connecting students and families with community resources.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Current LMSW or LCSW licensure in the state of Maryland.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, IDEA, and special education frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with school-age children and adolescents.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to special education evaluations and planning.
- Connect students and families to community resources and support services.
- Identify and report suspected child abuse or neglect in accordance with mandated reporter guidelines.
- Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and progress reports.
