About The Position

Desert Choice Schools, a division of Learn It Family of Companies, is a certified K-12 Private Day School approved by the Arizona Department of Education. We provide Special Education Services for a wide range of disability categories including Autism, Emotional Disability, Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, Orthopedic Impairment, Other Health Impaired, Specific Learning Disability, Traumatic Brain Injury, Visually Impaired, and Speech-Language Impairment. We are seeking a Site Administrator for our school in Yuma, AZ, offering relocation assistance. This management position is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, interdisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need. The Site Administrator will oversee and be an integral part of a private special education day school team that partners with school districts to deliver high-quality services to students with special needs. You will support a team of School Psychologists, Special Education Teachers, and Behavior Technicians in various facets of our program, including Clinical Program, Curriculum/Instruction, and Special Education Services. You will report to an area manager and executive director, and a team of educators and technicians will report to you.

Requirements

  • Active and valid School Psychologist or Special Education Teaching Certificate by AZ state.
  • Experience working with emotional and/or behaviorally challenged students.
  • Ability to collaborate and receive feedback, mentoring, and direction from peers and supervisors.
  • Maintain a professional and clinical perspective at all times, able to not internalize or personalize (e.g. emotionally) in regards to certain student behaviors or mannerisms that occur.
  • Must have the strength and dexterity to safely and effectively use Crisis Management Interventions (including the use of therapeutic holds) of all involved (e.g. self, student, other employees).
  • Applicants must be presently eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Management experience preferred.
  • PCMA certified is a plus but not required. We can provide PCMA training for you.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical program implementation, classroom management, curriculum and instructional practices, and Special Education compliance.
  • Manage hiring, succession planning, and mentoring of employees.
  • Oversee several classrooms, each consisting of a special education teacher, one to three behavior technicians, and a school psychologist.
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with clients and districts.
  • Manage all Special Education meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all Special Education policies and procedures.
  • Consult with staff and district personnel.
  • Manage all enrollment and reintegration activities.
  • Provide professional development activities for employees.
  • Oversee staffing, including performance management.
  • Assist HR with hiring needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and all clientele.
  • Ensure instruction and curricular implementation is aligned with company values.
  • Provide general supervision of the program.
