About The Position

Learn Academy is an accredited non-public school dedicated to serving students who have faced challenges in traditional academic settings. Founded in 2009, our mission is to create a stimulating and supportive environment for students ages 5 to 22 who have found conventional schools less accommodating. Learn Academy is a national leader in special education, academic intervention, and specialized behavioral services. We use a structured program implemented in environments that facilitate functional independence and academic and social success.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Special Education or related field required
  • Experience as an educator in a population similar to the students of Learn Academy.
  • Valid CA Department of Education certification.
  • Current California "IVP" DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card is required and/or Background Check for State of CA
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and implement student Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and design and provide specially designed instruction (SDI).
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work identifying the best people for the job.
  • Ability to manage one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Ability to Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

Nice To Haves

  • Principal/Administrative Certification preferred.
  • Safety Care Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership, foster a culture of excellence, and create a clear, inspiring vision for the organization.
  • Implement and oversee PBIS program, curriculum, and instructional practices while ensuring compliance with special education policies.
  • Manage the enrollment and reintegration activities.
  • Effectively manage daily school operations, resources/supports, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor, develop, and evaluate staff, providing professional development opportunities and recognizing achievements.
  • Maintain effective communication with teachers, staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with districts, clients, and families, maintaining positive relationships with key personnel.
  • Manage special education meetings and documentation, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
