About The Position

KRE Security is hiring a full-time High School Security Officer for a school in the Berks County area. The position follows the academic school calendar and provides a professional, approachable security presence throughout the school day. The officer helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, families, and visitors, and may provide additional coverage for school, athletic, and other events. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM. It starts November 1, with all required training to be completed before placement at the client site.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age, as required by the client contract.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Approachable and respectful, and comfortable interacting with students, families, staff, and visitors.
• Alert and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Able to conduct interior and exterior patrols.
• Willing to work outside when required, including during inclement weather.
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Comfortable responding appropriately to challenging situations.
• Able to follow established procedures while using good judgment when circumstances change.
• Willing to complete all required background checks and clearances.
• Must complete training mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for School Security Officers and maintain all required certifications, clearances, and training throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible and professional security presence throughout the school day.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols according to the school's daily schedule and activities.
• Monitor entrances, hallways, common areas, and designated exterior areas.
• Help maintain a safe environment during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and other school activities.
• Interact professionally and respectfully with students, staff, families, and visitors.
• Observe and report unusual or potentially unsafe activity.
• Respond appropriately to security and safety concerns.
• Support school staff during challenging situations when needed.
• Complete required activity logs and incident reports.
• Follow site-specific post orders, procedures, and client requirements.
• Provide additional coverage for school events, athletic events, and other activities as requested.
