About The Position

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a School Psychologist to support its mission of positively impacting children and communities. The role provides counseling and supports students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs in a school-based setting. The School Psychologist works with students, families, school staff, and other professionals to support development, participate in IEP processes, and meet applicable documentation and service requirements. PDS provides pediatric therapy services to public school districts, charter schools, and communities.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Psychology.
Have or be eligible for a School Psychologist endorsement as prescribed by the State Department of Education.
Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and courteously, verbally and in writing.
Ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives of agencies outside the school system.

Nice To Haves

Experience or specialized training in pediatric mental health.

Responsibilities

Provide counseling services to students and their parents.
Participate in a multi-tiered system of support for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, including interdisciplinary meetings to evaluate and discuss student diagnoses and treatment.
Participate in initial and annual IEP development, as appropriate.
Collaborate with and coach families and staff during weekly team meetings and follow-up meetings to support social and emotional development.
Follow federal, state, and local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines, and procedural safeguards.
Develop and maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with required meetings and services.
