About The Position

Fenway High School is seeking a highly organized, student-centered, and collaborative School Operations, Student Engagement & Support Manager to support the daily functioning of the school and help coordinate systems that ensure students are engaged, supported, connected, and successful. This position focuses on school operations, student engagement systems, attendance coordination, logistics, supervision, programming, and implementation of structures that maximize student participation, safety, and access to learning opportunities. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, calm under pressure, highly organized, operationally strong, and committed to supporting diverse learners in an inclusive urban public school setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience working in schools or youth-serving organizations
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with diverse student populations in urban educational settings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and student information systems
  • Current authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of daily school operations to ensure safe and efficient building functioning
  • Assist with operational systems related to: Arrival and dismissal, Hallway and common space supervision, Student transitions, Lunch operations, Coverage coordination, School events and assemblies, Emergency procedures and drills
  • Collaborate with administration, office staff, facilities, transportation, and external partners to address operational and logistical needs
  • Support development and implementation of operational systems and procedures that maximize instructional time and student access to programming
  • Coordinate logistics for field trips, Project Week, exhibitions, graduation, testing, and school-wide initiatives
  • Monitor attendance data and coordinate systems to improve student attendance and engagement
  • Support outreach to students and families regarding attendance concerns
  • Coordinate attendance intervention meetings and support plans
  • Assist with re-engagement planning for students returning from absences or alternative placements
  • Support implementation of student incentive programs, wellness initiatives, and engagement activities
  • Coordinate extracurricular participation systems including athletics, robotics, debate, clubs, internships, and enrichment programming
  • Collaborate with counselors, teachers, special education staff, social workers, and SST teams to support students’ academic engagement and access to school-based supports
  • Assist in coordinating intervention plans and student support systems
  • Help ensure students and families are connected to appropriate resources and services
  • Maintain a visible and supportive presence throughout the building during transitions and school activities
  • Build positive relationships with students and families to strengthen school connectedness and belonging
  • Maintain accurate records and operational systems within Aspen and other district platforms
  • Organize attendance, intervention, supervision, and programming data
  • Assist with compliance-related reporting and school operational documentation
  • Support schoolwide communication regarding operational procedures, programming, and expectations
  • Collaborate with school leadership to improve systems and operational efficiency
  • Participate in leadership team meetings and school improvement planning
  • Support implementation of schoolwide operational priorities and initiatives
  • Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented leadership culture
  • Support coordination and supervision of non-instructional systems and activities
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of School

Benefits

  • Salaries are listed by Unions and Grade/Step
  • School-based Managerial employees will work 223 days each year.
  • The 223 day work-year will include the 183 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school.
  • School-based Managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time.
  • In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based Managerial employees need not report to work.
