About The Position

Perform clerical work, providing assistance to the public and routing calls to the proper person. This role involves assisting with student registration, scheduling important meetings like Child Study, IEP, and eligibility sessions, and managing daily office tasks such as sorting mail and assisting the Cafeteria Monitor during lunch. The associate will work closely with the School Attendance Officer to manage student attendance, sending out necessary letters for absences and tardiness. A key part of the role includes inputting and maintaining student emergency information in PowerSchool, fostering positive relationships with staff, students, and parents, and supporting office staff with administrative duties like answering phones, making calls home, and conducting attendance audits. The position also involves managing building key distribution, serving as a backup point of contact for community and emergency personnel, updating car rider information, and acting as a backup to the School Administrative Associate 1.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with student registration.
  • Schedules Child Study, IEP, and eligibility meetings.
  • Sorts and distributes mail.
  • Assists Cafeteria Monitor during lunch times.
  • Manages and monitors student attendance in coordination with the School Attendance Officer; sends absentee and tardy letters.
  • Inputs, maintains, and removes student’s emergency information into PowerSchool.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Assists office staff with administrative duties such as answering phones, answering questions, making calls home, and attendance audits.
  • Assists in the management of building key distribution and collection.
  • Acts as back-up point of contact with the community, school division, and school based emergency personnel.
  • Updates, maintains, and communicates car rider information.
  • Acts as back up to school Administrative Associate 1.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
