About The Position
Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide on-site nursing services for a School in Sarasota County, Florida. The ideal candidate will work closely with school administration to provide services to students in accordance with established guidelines and standards of practice.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with students with multiple disabilities.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience participating in IEP meetings.
- Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience, preferably in a school, pediatric, or community health setting
Nice To Haves
- Experience caring for children with chronic health conditions and disabilities preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health needs
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Assess student health concerns and respond to medical emergencies
- Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs)
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate health records and required documentation
- Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings as needed
- Educate staff regarding student health needs and emergency procedures
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal health regulations
- Any other duties as assigned
