About The Position

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered School Nurse (R.N.) to join our team at Universal Academy, Coppell. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the health and wellbeing of our students, and a passion for providing high-quality healthcare within an educational setting.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Nurse (R.N.) with a valid nursing license.

Nice To Haves

• Additional certifications in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or a related field would be a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and react quickly in emergency situations.
• Proficient in basic medical procedures and understanding of child growth and development.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness.
• Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
• Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene.
• Monitor immunizations, manage communicable diseases, and coordinate infection control.
• Assess and treat students and staff as needed.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure the health and safety of students.
• Maintain accurate medical records for all students.
• Administer daily and PRN (as needed) medications and nursing care procedures prescribed by the student's physician.
