About The Position
Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse in Wolcott, New York, for a flexible PRN opportunity providing nursing care and support to students during the school day. The nurse helps students stay safe, healthy, and ready to learn by addressing their health needs and supporting a safe school environment.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current American Heart Association CPR/First Aid certification.
- NYSED fingerprint clearance.
- Experience caring for pediatric patients, including familiarity with pediatric diabetes management.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessing and treating illnesses, injuries, and acute health concerns during the school day.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders, individualized health plans, and school health protocols.
- Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions, including pediatric diabetes, and respond to changes in their health status.
- Maintain accurate student health records.
- Communicate relevant health information with appropriate school personnel and families.
- Support a safe and healthy school environment.
