About The Position

The PRN School Nurse will split time between Sheppard Pratt School locations in Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Lanham. The nurse promotes students’ health and well-being and ensures access to medical care and support throughout their educational journey. The role provides comprehensive nursing care to students with a range of medical needs, including medication administration, wound care, and first aid.

Requirements

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• A valid Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice nursing.
• One year of work experience in a school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with caregivers to provide medical treatment based on each student’s health needs and history.
• Support the school psychiatrist in medication management.
• Maintain cumulative and comprehensive documentation for each student’s health record.
