The Athenian School seeks a compassionate, skilled, and highly organized School Nurse to support the health and well-being of students in grades 6–12 across both the day and boarding programs. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (or designated supervisor), the School Nurse is responsible for the daily management and administration of the Health Services Office and for ensuring a safe, responsive, and student-centered approach to healthcare on campus. The School Nurse works closely with the Middle School and Upper School Deans of Students, the Athletic Director, Athletic Trainer, and members of the boarding team to support students’ physical and emotional health, facilitate physical readiness for athletics and experiential programming, and promote overall wellness within the school community. This role includes availability during the academic day, coordination of coverage when off campus, and participation in on-call or after-hours support for the boarding program as needed. In addition to direct student care, the School Nurse oversees health compliance, maintains medical records through the School’s health management system, coordinates vaccination and public health requirements, leads wellness education initiatives, and contributes to campus safety and emergency preparedness planning. There may also be opportunities to participate in other aspects of Athenian’s whole-student program, including student mentoring, outdoor education, or coaching, depending on interest and experience.
