About The Position

The School Nurse will provide direct care to students who are ill or injured, conduct screenings and referrals for health care conditions, administer medications, and manage chronic illnesses. This role also involves assisting in promoting a healthy and safe environment, acting as a liaison between the school, family, and physician, and auditing immunization records and student health forms. The nurse will document care in the EMR, educate staff and students on health-related issues, and complete online continuing education and attend meetings as requested. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Valid, active license in the state of Georgia
• BLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
• None required (experience)
• The ability to lift, push, pull and carry objects that weigh at least 5 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to those ill or injured

• Medication administration, chronic illness management

• Act as liaison between school, family and physician

• Document in the EMR per school system
• Educate Staff on student on health related issues and treatments as needed

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
