About The Position

The McKeesport Area School District is seeking qualified, caring, and dependable nursing professionals to provide health services and support to students throughout the district. This flexible, part-time position will serve multiple school buildings as needed to promote student health and safety while supporting the daily operations of each school's health office.

Requirements

Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Current CPR/AED certification.
Current Pennsylvania Criminal History Record, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.

Experience working with children is preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff.

Responsibilities

Provide first aid and nursing care to students and staff.
Assess student health concerns and respond appropriately to illnesses, injuries, and emergencies.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
Assist with the care and monitoring of students with chronic medical conditions.
Maintain accurate student health records and documentation.
Conduct health screenings and assist with state-mandated health requirements as assigned.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, and school personnel regarding student health needs.
Assist with communicable disease prevention and health education initiatives.
Support school emergency response procedures.
Travel to various district schools based on staffing needs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
