The School Nurse - RN is responsible for meeting the individual health needs of students, incorporating physician-directed healthcare plans, and complying with student health laws. This role involves providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile, or injured students, serving as a health resource for staff, and identifying health problems for referral. The position is a 1.0 FTE, One Year Only, working Monday through Friday. Prior experience in school nursing is preferred. The role requires demonstrated ability to work with students of various health conditions, manage emergency situations, and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and healthcare providers. Skills in maintaining accurate records, developing healthcare and emergency plans for medically fragile students, and supervising LPNs are necessary. ESA certification and OSD training are required before employment. Verifiable years of experience outside education will be considered for salary placement.
