1:1 School Nurse – Registered Nurse (RN)
About The Position
Cross Country Education is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse in Clinton Township, MI, to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with complex healthcare needs and help them safely participate in their daily school activities. This role involves providing dedicated 1:1 nursing support to a pediatric student throughout the school day, including assessment, monitoring, and responding to changes in condition. The nurse will monitor and manage the student’s individual healthcare needs, including seizure management, rescue medications, pediatric diabetes care, diabetes insipidus, oxygen/airway support, and medication administration. The position requires following individualized healthcare and emergency action plans, recognizing changes in the student’s condition, and responding appropriately in the school setting. Collaboration with school staff and healthcare personnel is essential to support continuity of care, maintain student safety, and remain prepared to respond to emergencies and carry required rescue supplies as needed.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current BLS/CPR/AED Certification
- Pediatric nursing experience with strong assessment, critical-thinking, and independent decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently in a school-based environment and respond appropriately to student healthcare needs
