About The Position

The School Monitor is responsible for helping ensure student safety by supervising students at various times of the day, including before and after school, during lunch, and during recess. This is a part-time role at IDEA Tres Lagos with an hourly compensation rate of $10.00. The position provides a safe and orderly environment, supports student behavior management, and assists with general cafeteria needs. The School Monitor communicates behavioral concerns and inappropriate conduct to appropriate administrative personnel and performs related duties as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Enjoys working with children.
Manages students in a firm and fair manner.
Strong communication skills with students and staff.
Flexibility to change.

Experience working with students is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a safe and orderly environment for students.
Monitor students during bus drop-off, arrival, and after school.
Monitor halls during student arrival and lunch.
Maintain assigned lunch schedules for all grade levels without delay.
Supervise and assist students in the serving line to keep assigned lunch periods on schedule.
Supervise the lunchroom and maintain orderly conduct.
Supervise students during recess and rotate through the lunchroom at scheduled times.
Assist students with opening food containers, discarding food, and maintaining general cafeteria cleanliness.
Assist with and support student behavior management.
Refer and communicate behavioral concerns and inappropriate conduct to appropriate administrative personnel.
Perform related duties as required.
