About The Position

The School Monitor ensures student safety by supervising students at various times throughout the day, including before and after school, during arrival, and during lunch and recess. The role helps maintain a safe, orderly environment and supports student behavior management.

The School Monitor monitors bus drop-off, student arrival, hallways, the serving line, lunchroom, and recess. The role also assists students with general food needs and cafeteria cleanliness, communicates behavioral concerns to appropriate administrative personnel, and performs related duties as required. This is a part-time role with an hourly rate of $10.00.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Manages students in a firm and fair manner.
• Strong communication skills with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and orderly environment for students.
• Monitor students during bus drop-off, arrival, and after school.
• Monitor hallways during student arrival and lunch.
• Maintain the assigned lunch schedule for all grade levels without delay.
• Supervise and assist students through the serving line to keep assigned lunch periods on schedule.
• Supervise the lunchroom to maintain orderly conduct.
• Supervise students during recess and rotate through the lunchroom at the scheduled time.
• Assist students with general food needs, including opening food containers, discarding food, and maintaining general cafeteria cleanliness.
• Assist with and support student behavior management.
• Refer and communicate behavioral concerns and inappropriate conduct to appropriate administrative personnel.
• Perform related duties as required.
