About The Position

The School Monitor is responsible for ensuring student safety by supervising students at various times of the day, including before and after school and during lunch and recess. The role provides a safe, orderly environment and supports student behavior management. The position is based at IDEA Lakeland and is an immediate opening. Compensation is $15.00 per hour. IDEA Public Schools is a tuition-free, Pre-K–12 public charter school network serving more than 80,000 students across 143 schools in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Ohio. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Enjoys working with children.
Manages students in a firm and fair manner.
Strong communication skills with students and staff.
Flexibility to change.
Promptness.

Experience working with students is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a safe and orderly environment for students.
Monitor students during bus drop-off, arrival, and after school.
Monitor hallways during student arrival and lunch.
Maintain the assigned lunch schedule for all grade levels without delay.
Supervise and assist students through the serving line to keep assigned lunch periods on schedule.
Supervise the lunchroom and maintain orderly conduct.
Supervise students during recess and rotate through the lunchroom at the scheduled time.
Assist with general food needs, including opening food containers, discarding food, and maintaining cafeteria cleanliness.
Assist with and support student behavior management.
Refer and communicate behavioral concerns and inappropriate conduct to appropriate administrative personnel.
Perform related duties as required.
