School Food Service Worker
About The Position
Union School District is seeking dependable, friendly, and motivated part-time School Food Service Workers to help provide students with nutritious meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming cafeteria environment. The role is suited to someone who enjoys a fast-paced setting, works well with others, and takes pride in serving students and staff. The position is typically scheduled for four hours per day on a school-based day-shift schedule. Wages, benefits, and other employment terms are subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement, where applicable. Requirements
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
- Dependable and punctual, with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.
Nice To Haves
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Previous food service experience; helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping ingredients and assembling meals.
- Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and perform cashier duties.
- Stock, organize, and rotate food and supplies.
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Collaborate with cafeteria staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
