School Director- VA
About The Position
Children of America (COA) is seeking a School Director to oversee daily management tasks, lead a team of educators, and execute educational programming for all programs, from Infant care through School Age. The School Director will work directly under senior leadership, collaborating in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and sharing a passion for early childhood education. COA's company culture values unique attributes, perspectives, and backgrounds. The program serves preschool children aged 6 weeks to 12 years, with offerings including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care, and Summer Camp. This position interacts daily with parents, the School Director, teaching staff, support staff, assigned operations personnel, facilities, custodial teams, and a regional support team.
Requirements
- Minimum CDA or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a licensed childcare facility
- Advanced knowledge in early childhood education
- Flexible in challenging situations
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Commitment to professional development
- Effective decision-making skills
- Proficient in the use of technology, including industry applications and MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must meet state requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to drive and/or travel up to 10% of the time for training, professional development, and organizational meetings

- Continuously pursue quality care through the execution of our curriculum
- Manage all day-to-day operations utilizing COA's processes, procedures, and policies
- Meet all COA performance standards in terms of operations and education as outlined in your annual budget
