About The Position

Campus Services Group (CSG) is seeking a School Custodian to maintain a clean and safe environment within its facilities. The custodian works closely with staff and students to help the school meet high cleanliness standards. The role is located at 604 E 139th St, Bronx, NY 10454, and pays from $17.00 per hour. Applicants should be able to follow instructions, perform routine tasks consistently, and work independently after training. The position involves standing and walking for 6–8 hours daily and working around food and cleaning products. A criminal background check is required, as is compliance with applicable COVID-19 vaccination policies.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently.
• Ability to complete responsibilities without supervision after training.
• Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, as required by state, local, and/or customer requirements.
• Must provide a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas according to quality standards and safety guidelines.
• Use protective gear during all cleaning functions.
• Complete cleaning assignments on schedule.
• Report equipment and cleaning product needs or malfunctions to supervisors.
• Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and common spaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and perform related duties as assigned.
• Respond promptly to paging system alerts and customer requests.
• Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
