School Custodian
About The Position
Campus Services Group is seeking a dedicated School Custodian to maintain a clean and safe environment at its facility at 404 Daretown Rd, Elmer, NJ 08318. The custodian works with staff and students to support high cleanliness standards. The offered pay rate is $16.00–$16.50 per hour; rates depend on applicant qualifications, experience, education, facility needs, and operational considerations. The role includes routine cleaning and janitorial work across assigned areas, such as classrooms, bathrooms, and common spaces. The employee must follow safety and infection-control practices, complete assignments on schedule, respond to alerts and requests, and report equipment or supply issues. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently.
- Ability to complete all responsibilities without supervision after training.
- Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily.
- Ability to lift and carry, and push and pull, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies when required by state, local, or customer requirements.
- Must provide a criminal background check.

Responsibilities
- Perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas in accordance with quality standards and safety guidelines.
- Use protective gear during cleaning functions.
- Complete cleaning assignments on schedule.
- Report equipment or cleaning-product needs and malfunctions to supervisors.
- Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and common spaces.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
- Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and perform related assigned duties.
- Respond promptly to paging-system alerts and customer requests.
- Follow infection-control procedures and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
