About The Position

Campus Services Group (CSG) is seeking a dedicated School Custodian to maintain clean and safe facilities at a school in Downtown Brooklyn. The custodian works with staff and students to meet high cleanliness standards and provide good service. The role includes janitorial and cleaning assignments across classrooms, bathrooms, common spaces, and other assigned areas, while following safety and infection-control practices.

The starting pay rate is USD $20.00 per hour. Offered salary rates are determined based on applicant qualifications, experience, education, and the specific needs and operational requirements of the facility serviced.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently.
• Ability to complete all responsibilities without supervision after training.
• Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6–8 hours daily.
• Ability to lift and carry, and push and pull, up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, as required by state, local, and/or customer requirements.
• Must provide a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial and cleaning tasks in assigned areas in accordance with quality standards and safety guidelines.
• Use protective gear during cleaning functions.
• Complete cleaning assignments on schedule.
• Report equipment or cleaning-product needs and malfunctions to supervisors.
• Dust mop and damp mop floors in classrooms and common spaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
• Remove trash, empty wastebaskets, and perform related assigned duties.
• Respond promptly to paging-system alerts and customer requests.
• Follow infection-control practices and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
