About The Position

ABM is hiring a School Custodial Cleaner to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college, or university campus. This is a Union 1877 position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Pay is $21.00 per hour; an individual offer may vary based on experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and market alignment. No experience or diploma is required, and on-the-job training is provided. The role may suit someone entering or returning to the workforce. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and sort recycling into appropriate receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls; polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and tools.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, and perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Maintain restroom cleanliness and polish surfaces as needed.
Comply with company, client, and regulatory safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
