About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in assigned areas of a K–12 school, college, or university campus. On-the-job training is provided, and no prior experience or formal education is required. The posting lists day-cleaner hours of 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and night-cleaner hours of 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, at $13.75 per hour. It also lists two part-time positions from 4:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. and two full-time positions from 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel surfaces.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas manually or with hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Maintain restroom cleanliness and polish surfaces as needed.
Comply with company, client, and regulatory safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
