About The Position

ABM is hiring a reliable and experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college, or university campus. The role is suitable for someone entering or returning to the workforce; no experience or diploma is required, and on-the-job training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, either 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Pay is $15.00 per hour. The work location is 6000 S Georgia St, Amarillo, TX 79118. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
No experience required; on-the-job training is provided.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required.

Nice To Haves

Prior customer service experience.
One year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Use chemical cleaners and power equipment according to procedures to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
Polish hard surfaces, such as woodwork and stainless steel.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or with hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other seasonal tasks.
Maintain restroom cleanliness, including cleaning and polishing as needed.
Comply with company, client, and regulatory-authority safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures.
