About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas of a K-12 school, college, or university campus. The role includes cleaning and maintaining classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and other assigned areas. On-the-job training is provided, and no prior experience or diploma is required. The position involves using chemical cleaners and power equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness and recycling, communicating maintenance needs, and complying with applicable safety, security, compliance, and quality standards. Seasonal outdoor tasks may also be assigned. The listed pay is $17.57 per hour. A specific offer may vary based on experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Nice To Haves

Prior customer service experience.
One year of prior similar work experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and separate recycling into proper receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
Polish hard surfaces, such as woodwork and stainless steel surfaces.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas manually or using hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Maintain restroom cleanliness and polish surfaces as needed.
Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
