About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable and experienced School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas of a K-12 school, college, or university campus. The work includes maintaining cleanliness across classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and other assigned areas. No prior experience or high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required; on-the-job training is provided. This role may suit someone entering or returning to the workforce. Veterans and candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply. The posting lists day-cleaner hours of 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and night-cleaner hours of 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at $13.75 per hour. It also identifies two part-time positions scheduled 4:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and two full-time positions scheduled 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager about the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, coworkers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and sort recycling into appropriate receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
Polish hard surfaces, such as woodwork and stainless-steel surfaces.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or using hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaning solutions, sponges, and squeegees.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Clean and polish restrooms as needed.
Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
