The School Coach will be responsible for training a team of athletes to achieve optimal physical condition in their sport. This includes improving nutrition, muscle development, athletic skill, and mental toughness. The coach will also educate athletes on sports rules and regulations, create conditioning programs to enhance performance and confidence, and evaluate individual and team performance. Responsibilities include scheduling practices, coordinating with the league for game schedules, arranging transportation and lodging for travel, selecting and managing coaching support staff, and ensuring the quality of team equipment, supplies, and facilities. Additionally, the coach will develop job coaching and employment plans, communicate with clients to understand their goals, help clients overcome barriers and set goals, assess and leverage individual strengths, guide clients in completing job tasks, foster motivation and skills development, provide coaching in job search techniques, assist individuals with disabilities in developing social and life skills, advise on workplace accommodations, monitor and evaluate client progress, and maintain records and reports. The coach will also oversee the safety of the facility, enforce rules regarding player conditioning and health, report injuries and incidents, manage athlete injuries with competent medical care, secure doctor and parent approval for athletes returning after serious injuries, supervise athletes until they leave the site, and ensure facilities are secured. Other related duties and schedules assigned by the supervisor may also be required.
