About The Position

Now Hiring Part-Time School Bus Drivers – CDL Experienced Drivers Only – Lawnside, NJ As a Part-Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students' days with morning pickup before school and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may be available. This position is for fully qualified CDL drivers only. Applicants must currently possess a valid CDL with both School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements at the time of application. We are not accepting permit holders or candidates requiring CDL training for this position.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must possess a valid Class B CDL or higher
• Must possess current Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Must meet all DOT physical and background requirements
• Must have a minimum of three years of driving experience
• This position is for fully credentialed CDL drivers only.
• Candidates who require CDL training or who do not currently possess both the S and P endorsements will not be considered for this role.
• This position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
• DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

Nice To Haves

• Previous school bus driving experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting students to and from school and school-related activities
• Supervising boarding and unloading at bus stops
• Assisting students with seatbelts and mobility devices as needed
• Maintaining order on the bus to ensure a safe environment
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Reporting mechanical issues promptly and maintaining vehicle cleanliness
• Complying with all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety standards
• Communicating professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch teams
