About The Position

As a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students’ day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home. No experience as a bus driver is required! We’re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed. Your day will include: A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between A guaranteed shift of (4) hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want to Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• No college degree or high school diploma required.
• No experience as a bus driver necessary.
• Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
• Must be able to operate a school bus.
• Must be able to maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely to and from school.
• Provide before-school pickup and after-school drop-off.
• Operate a school bus in accordance with company and state regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Adhere to a split shift schedule.
• Be available for additional hours through trips and charters when available.
