About The Position

Stock Transportation Ltd. is seeking School Bus Drivers to join their team. The company operates over 2,800 school buses across Ontario and Alberta and has decades of experience in pupil transportation. This position is ideal for retirees, stay-at-home parents, self-employed individuals, or those seeking part-time, seasonal work with a stable income. Drivers will work mornings and afternoons, Monday through Friday, during the school year, with evenings, weekends, and holidays off.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid provincial Class G Driver’s License or Higher.
  • Must have a clean Drivers Abstract, clear Criminal Background check and Vulnerable Sector Screening Test.
  • Stock Transportation has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct that is incompatible with its policies and values, including sexual exploitation and abuse, harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up passengers at pre-determined locations
  • Exhibits the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity, Shares concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with their supervisor or manager
  • Report to work on time and operate route in a safe manner
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections daily, using Company tools and swipe technology
  • Practice defensive driving at all times, and proactively avoid accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits
  • Lift and close bus doors daily, and assist passengers who are boarding and exiting the bus
  • Evacuate bus in emergency situations and physically assist passengers to evacuate
  • Refill fuel and washer fluid in assigned vehicle, when necessary, before picking up passengers
  • Manage student behavior by exercising communication and discipline as per Company policies, and report student discipline issues to the school and to the Company immediately
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and major or minor defects, to office immediately
  • Complete all required paperwork, including route change sheets, timecards, vehicle repair requests, in a timely manner
  • Deliver vehicle to office for repairs, preventative maintenance inspections, and repairs
  • Contact parents of passengers if instructed to by the Company
  • Attend all Company Safety Meetings
  • Adhere to Company standards in the operation of Company vehicles and customer service
  • Follow all Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as local Customer Service Center work directions and instructions
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Company
