About The Position

Now Hiring Part-Time School Bus Drivers – New Fairfield, CT As a Part-Time School Bus Driver, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You'll start students' days with morning pickups before school and safely transport them home in the afternoon. Additional hours for field trips and special event transportation may also be available. No experience is necessary! First Student provides paid training, support, and guidance to help you become a safe and professional school bus driver.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old
Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years
Ability to work a part-time schedule
Enjoy working with students
This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing. As a safety-sensitive position, DOT regulations prohibit the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.

Responsibilities

Safely transport students to and from school and school activities
Assist students with boarding, unloading, seatbelts, and mobility aids
Maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Report maintenance concerns promptly
Keep the bus clean and sanitary
Follow all traffic laws and company safety standards
Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
Provide excellent customer service and leadership

Benefits

Hourly Rate: $27.11 per hour after training completion
Training Rate: $16.94 per hour
Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training provided
